Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the 6th Annual Meeting of the European Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgeons (ESTMJS).

We are pleased to organize this International meeting in Bonn, Germany, from Wednesday 1st July to Friday 3rd July 2015.

ESTMJS was founded in 2009 by a number of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons who specialised in TMJ surgery, with the American Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgery as a role model.

ESTMJS‘s purpose is to increase the expertise in diagnostics and therapy from within and outside of it’s membership in oral and maxillofacial surgery.   Compared to contemporary extremity joint surgery, TMJ surgery still seems to be a relatively small field.

This year’s topic is:

Chronic Inflammatory Disease vs. Osteoarthrosis of the TMJ
- Surgical Aspects

During the three day program, we will view this topic from different perspectives.  Our keynote speakers are some of the most renowned specialists in the field, together with two rheumatology speakers.

This year we will have a round table discussion about staged treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases of the TMJ, which will be given by our specialists who have a vast amount of experience; clinical decisions will also be discussed.

In addition, reviews and innovative ideas around the topic, and beyond, will be presented in the free paper section. Abstracts for this limited section can be submitted by downloading the Application Form from the Registration Section of the website.  Please note the deadline for submission is 3rd May 2015.

Besides the scientific program, we are looking forward to showing you the beautiful city of Bonn which is situated on the Rhine River, with it’s history of more than 2000 years.  Our town, which is situated at the rim of the most densely populated area in Germany, in many ways, is special because of it’s history (including it’s provisional status as capital from 1948-2001), it’s large university, it’s multicultural flavor as a United Nation’s town, it’s green and healthy surroundings and by no means least the principally positive and openminded attitude of it’s citizens, matched with a wonderful sense of humor.

The Board of ESTMJS, as well as the organising team will be happy to welcome you to our meeting in Bonn.

With the scientific program, together with the social events, we hope to make your visit a memorable one.

Prof.Dr.Dr. Rudolf H. Reich

President ESTMJS
